Razer Lycosa - My review

I got a Razer Lycosa keyboard for christmas. I know there will be some of you who hate and some who love. It's a marmite thing. Anyway, the reason I wanted one was due to the low profile keys, and the cool looking backlight.

Anyway, to the review itself.
The keyboard is pretty cool. It's got 1 large wire coming out of it which then junctions to 4 smaller wires - 2 usb 2.0 and one 3.5mm Mic and one 3.5mm speaker/headphone. One of the USB connectors is actually for the port on the back of the board to which you can plug things in. I'm not sure how effective this is, nor am I sure how effective the 3.5mm ports are on the basis I didn't plug them in - don't have a need to.

The keys themselves are pretty dark when the backlight is turned off. Unless you know a standard QWERTY layout by heart, you're gonna have a bit of trouble without it. Other than that, the backlight has two other settings. WASD mode, which lights them up in a light/bright shade of blue, and fully lit which backlights each key, albeit a darker shade. I must admit the fully lit setting isn't consistent across the board - The F-keys and some keys towards the top left are left a bit dim, but still readable.

The keys are rubberised, which take a bit of getting used to, especially if the previous keyboard had the key surface worn down due to excessive use (Logitech Wave represent).

The new layout took a bit of getting used to, and I still have a habit of pressing CAPS instead of SHIFT (which can be a gigantic pain at times), but it's all there.

As for the media board on the top right, I feel a bit dumb, on the basis that with my previous keyboard mentioned before, it automatically worked with media players (my main one being winamp). This though... ehhh.. Originally when I tried (& failed) at using it, I thought it was a driver issue. Turns out you gotta enable it within the media player, however finding the option is a bit hard, but it works. I just wish that pressing the razer symbol, or the snake heads, would just like open up certain apps, as on my last keyboard, as on my old one, I found it usefull fo have the calculator, Media Launch and Mute sound at my fingertips. It's a bit more work but eh.

Oh, this may just me my keyboard, but after about a day of use, my S key started getting friction and making some related noise on use. To fix it I just pried it out with my finger, licked the underside of the key (to act as a kind of lube :V) and stuck it back in. No problems since.

To a conclusion. The keyboard is nice, however it lacks some things which I think would be beneficial. There are probably better keyboards out there and more expensive, but this is just my view on things. It's certainly not something to avoid.

Christmas, and how stupid it is.

It's getting towards that time of the year again where corporate profits skyrocket, as does the amount of people losing their homes. I fucking hate christmas because it's all a load of bullshit, only there to serve the minds of the dumb, gullible and young, hence this year I shall not be wanting nor giving anything, nor caring any more than I do now.

Everything is just too fucking generic.

Collateral Damage

So recently there's been a spate of permabannings where danish kids have accepted $1-2 mil OCRP Dosh from a select group of 2-3 people, and it's funny cause the people being banned are danish and the kids who exploited and gave out the money are also danish. Team Killing danish kids. Fun.

Controversy is a bitch.

Yeah I know what I did with the comeback and all was unexpected and very conflicting/confusing but dammit marcus no need to be so hostile. So far I'm just keeping away from him. Doing well so far.

I feel it's good post a few quotes I've gathered from the past year or so, the latter batch you've probably already seen.

I HEART LONDON

Ahh London. It's an epic place. History, Architecture, shopping, and more indians than you can shake a stick at.
Okay so people want to know about how my meet with Darth went. This goes from when I first arrived at KGX.

It didn't seem that long ago that I was at KGX, however, delving back into my history, the last time I was there was in August of 07. I figured with the completion of the St Pancras terminal, there wouldn't be any work done nearby for a while. Oh how wrong I was. The layout of the station was completely changed. I arrived at 12:04 on Platform 9. I couldn't see the rest of the station, like the concourse or anything, so that worried me a bit. Nevertheless I made my way to what I thought was the concourse but was actually just a bit that jutts out from the rest of the platforms (Platform 0-8 - Yes there is a fucking Platform 0, No I dunno why it's there.). Walking from my train to the concourse took an unrealistically long time - I think I forgot how far it was. As I walk to the concourse, I sit down and check my phone. Lo and behold I missed 2 calls from Darth.

I was in the middle of texting him telling him I arrived, when he calls me. Due to my odd way of answering calls, Darth originally mistook me for a woman :V
He says he's gonna be 20 minutes late for whatever reason, and told me to meet him at the taxi rank at kings cross, so I go there and wait. About 15/20 mins later, he calls me again asking where I am. I said I was at the KGX taxi ranks (at the time I was unaware there was 3 others. One between KGX and St Pancras, one on the side of KGX (where I was), and one on the very far end of st pancras. I spoke to D's Chauffer who said he was near the clock tower area, and gave me directions. I didn't know the St Pancras side of KGX, so I was a little lost.

Eventually I managed to meet up with D and his driver, and I was pretty suprised when D offered me a ride in the car - a 2009 Jag, all the trimmings. Was lush - Leather seats, aircon, GPS, oh and the legroom in the back was just astounding. So, we're on our way to the London Eye, passing through Russel Square (the scene of the bus explosion on 7/7), Aldwych, passing the old tram tunnel (london used to have trams) and over Waterloo Bridge. The driver said to prepare for the best view in london... I was not suprised as to why he said that. Going over waterloo bridge, on the right, you have the London Eye, Parliament, and several other things, while on the other side, you got St Pauls, Docklands, London bridge and other things. It really is an epic sight to see - just look at the pics from google earth.

Side note - I fail at keeping my blog up to date :3

So yeah, wel pull up not far from the end of the waterloo platforms, on Leake st. Darth tipped our driver (who had a thick london accent which I thought was awesome), and we made our way to the London Eye, but not before being stopped by some eastern european guy, who neither of us understood. I think he wanted directions, but to where is anyones guess. We walk across a street or 2 and make our way to the eye itself. We were taken aback by the queues, and estimated it would have been at least a 2 hour long wait. We weren't too keen on it, and we were wondering what the fuck do we do now - we never anticipated queues to be that long. Are a bit of debating, we figured it wasn't worth the queue or the price of fast track, or the weather for that matter, which was grey, cloudy, and drizzly.

We decided to go to waterloo station and take the tube to Oxford Circus, then Marble Arch. Only problem is that we didn't know where the entrance of the station was. Still, since I played alot of The Getaway + Black Monday on the PS2, I knew the major roads (kinda.), and I knew I had to head towards the IMAX theater. On the way there, we visited a CostCutter store to get myself a drink. This was basically Darth's first experience of a "Corner Store". He commented on how it's run by indians/pakistani's etc. I told him that's just how britain is.

Once we got to waterloo station, we kinda got a bit lost, and confused by an elevator. There's a glass encased elevator out the front of waterloo, which has a sign on it which says "Elevator to Subway" - We both assumed that took you to the london underground... Oh how wrong we were. When it got to the bottom, we got out, and saw another sign that said "London Underground" and an arro next to it point diagonally up-right - next to a set of stairs WHICH LEAD TO WHERE WE JUST CAME FROM. We both WTF'd, facepalmed, and BAWWWWed as we climbed more stairs, AND EVEN MORE STAIRS INTO THE MAIN ENTRANCE. My legs. Hnnnng.

Fucking furries, how do they work?

So it's a late night for me as usual. Sitting on build with an old friend when someone joins with the name of
๖Rusty 9k. Every now and then, when people join I like to view their steam profile. Low and behold, this was the worst furry related one I've ever seen. It was full of obnoxiousness, like proclaiming to everyone that he was a gay furry and that people oh so must respect him for it. Like fuck.
His steam profile (IMG)

It gets better. Later on, he reckons we're bigots and insulting because aneeso said, as a joke, that if he wanted admin he'd have to take a picture of his arse and post it on Exiled forums and Phoenix dawn, to which I said that since he was a gay furry he probably would.

Even better, when he mentioned his boyfriend (who we'll  get onto later) was joining, he DEMANDED we be nice to him.
"๖Rusty 9k: K mai boyfriend is comimng in so u better be nice to him."

Then he joined, with the name "dog.boy.332". He's australian, names' Ben, and is currently in a gay LDR (Long Distance Relationship) with the rusty. Both are annoying as fuck and both are the annoying type of faggot that prance around saying shit like "I'm gay and a furry therefore you must not troll me and must always respect me". I just want to fucking burn them.

What an odd week

Well, I say week... Lets just call it a month.

First off, from what I can remember, I witnessed my first house fire... well, I THOUGHT it was a house fire, but someones' hedge caught alight a few weeks back. I suffered smoke inhalation. That shit sucked balls.
Also, I miss evo2. It's a great map but J and D didn't like it. Gargh. Oh well.
Lawn is overgrown. I said to my mum I'm not cutting it until we get the lawnmower sharpened. There's no sharp edge on it AT ALL, but I love my mower.
I'm turning 18 tomorrow, but I still don't know what to do. I'll probably stay indoors though. Looking forward to the 11th of September.

Sometimes I hate new things.

For the first time in what seemed an age I actually visited a gmod server that I didn't manage. It was the GMod Theater server, 69.197.188.142:27015. I went there after seeing one of the OC SA's on there, and I recalled seeing a thread about it somewhere on FP, so I thought I'd give it a go.
It's basically the GMT cinema thing, sized down, and with less drama. Couple of observations though.
1. Change the colour scheme on players. Brown for a regular player? Hmmm.
2. Parent Jeep/Airboat seats in various places in the auditorium, so people can actually sit down. I suggested this in game however someone said it would cause lag. I detracted that statement saying that it would cause little to no lag because the networking would be rather small - The seats ain't gonna move.

Oh well. I'll probably visit them again at some point.
Oh and in regards to the title, I rarely go outside of my own communities server - I dislike the feeling of joining somewhere you don't have control of in case of faggotry. /controlfreak.

Shitty to Brilliant over 2 days

I must say, the GMod community certainly has its' tricks. It went from a rowdy bunch of 10 year olds to people who could actually RP. Some things are worth it then.

Ambition

It can be a great thing sometimes. It can also be a downfall too. I've been a rather ambitious person over the last year or so, espcially with OC. I started that with my own money. I bought a webserver and a domain and overnight a community was born. I used my existing server as the main hub, if you will. I've ran my own servers ever since November of 08. I always liked the idea of a community but only then had I really tasted it. Come March 3rd of 2010 and things went far, fast. I guess I should owe it all to Jake and Blackfur, as on the night before, Me, Jake and him were going to have a meeting, because PE was going down shit creek fast. Black then raged (reason still unknown) and temp. shut PE down. The administrators were worried, concerned, confused and angry. We all had a long meeting as well, and said our farewells because we genuinely thought PE had truly copped it.
So moving on to March 3rd, daytime, Jake was in talks with Darthkatzs (Probably got the z and the s mixed up, but whatever) about things. Darth was gonna move to VD, but jake convinced him otherwise, and since then, we've been going up ever since, minus a few setbacks.

You know, if you had asked me back in december what I would have invisioned OC to become in 6-7 months time, I would never have said that we'd have our own RP gamemode.
I am genuinly proud of OC. I admire the ambition of it, the skills of the members, and just how coincidental it all seemed. It worked out though.

Why is it that danish kids ruin EVERYTHING?

Seriously.
In my experience as a Pulsar Effect administrator, running my own servers and OC, Nearly all of the danish prepubescents that follow through are rulebreakers, mingefucks and general twats. They say it's cause they don't understand english properly -THEN WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU ON ENGLISH AND AMERICAN SERVERS YOU CUNTS. Whenever I see someone with [DK] or another variant in their name, I know to expect nothing more than jewishness.

Buh

Alright, this is my blog. It's nothing special. Been feeling the need to rant about things, or to talk about general shit. I can't guarantee a specific post rate but if something's on my mind, I'ma put it here.
